To Love-Ru

To Love-Ru is a Japanese series that originated as a manga (comic) magazine serial in 2006 and two years later it became an animated TV series. Some of the magazine stories were printed in volumes and the series was sold to an American Entertainment company. A sequeal, called To Love Ru Darkness, was produced in 2010 and finished in 2017. The manga was more successful than the animation, and series seven of the manga was the bestselling.

The series is extremely popular and there are also video games available based on To Love-Ru, as well as other merchandise such as body pillows in the likeness of the characters. There are humans and aliens in the series, humans on earth and aliens from the land of Deviluke where the ruler has just saved the universe and now has immense power in his world. The humans centre around Rito Yuki and his schoolmates and teachers, as well as his family.
